Yancy and I spent our first Christmas at home this year. We usually are on the go, visiting lots of family... whom we love so much! But this year, we got to see everyone over the weekend, which allowed us to come home for Christmas Day. Last night, we went to a Christmas Eve service at our church. I think it was the beginning of a new tradition for us. We enjoyed it so much. Today we slept in, ate a big breakfast, opened presents, and watched Christmas movies all day. Yancy kept a fire going all day and we even roasted a few marshmallows. We realized today that this will probably, and hopefully, be our last quiet Christmas. Next year will be a lot more exciting with our little one here and we are so looking forward to it. Anyway, I hope that you all enjoyed your Christmas Day, however you may have spent it. And most importantly, I hope you celebrated the true meaning of Christmas... the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
(On a side note, I dropped the camera and broke it on Saturday, so that's the reason we don't have any pictures. I'm very sad about it!)

Christmas Songs
I have really enjoyed listening to Christmas music this season. We have Sounds of the Seasons thru our cable, and it's been fun to hear alot of the old Christmas songs. But I have to say my favorite song this year is one by Third Day with Derri Daugherty and Julie Miller called Manger Throne. Here are a few lines...
What kind of king would come so small,
From glory to a humble stall?
That dirty manger is my heart to,
I'll make it a royal throne for you!
Jesus, Jesus, Precious One,
How we thank you that you've come!
Jesus, Jesus, Precious One,
A manger throne for God's own Son.
Every time I hear that I am so thankful that Jesus was willing to leave heaven to come to this sinful earth, just so he could be on the throne of my dirty heart. (Sometimes I like to put myself on my heart's throne, but it always works better when I leave Him in charge!) It makes me so humbled, but at the same time, I feel so loved by His great sacrifice. I pray this Christmas that Jesus is on the throne of your heart, too. Enjoy the season!

30... Really?!
It's really hard to believe that I'm 30! I guess I'm officially an adult now. Anyway, I had a great birthday Wednesday. Yancy took me to my favorite restaurant, Warehouse Bistro, for some delicious crab cakes. Thanks for all the birthday wishes, cards, and presents. Everyone made me feel very special and loved. This was one of my best- even if it was the big 3-0!

A Thankful Heart
From James MacDonald...
"Like a fragrant offering, your gratitude rises to God and blesses Him and in turn, His blessing fills you with such faith that the pattern of your life turns from complaining to thankfulness."
My prayer is that we might all have a "pattern of thankfulness" in our lives!
Psalm 100:5
"Give thanks to him and bless his name, for the Lord is good."

Early Thanksgiving
These are the girls in our college Bible Study. We all love studying God's Word and fellowshipping together. And what's a fellowship without good food? (We love to eat, don't we girls?) We took this picture at our Thanksgiving dinner Tuesday night. I'm so thankful for these sweet girls. They give Yancy and I hope for having a godly daughter one day. And aren't they all so pretty?!
